I can’t stop saying how fast time pasts. Should try to say it in Japanese. Hm, 時間が早すぎで過ぎちゃった… (?) Oh well.

I’m reaching the last 1/4 of Harry Potter book 5… part 1 (600 pages). I think 1.5 months have passed since I started. *sobs* Even the English one I can’t read so fast. But I read the last book quite fast… which is around a week I guess… =__=;;

I think when my friend read it in native Indonesian, she also took awhile (for proper story absorption, though). I wonder how fast on average do native Japanese read the novel. Maybe I read at a first grader’s pace… I thought I’m going okay-ish, but only 1 page for 3 minutes is quite slow, eh?

When I first read it, I thought the furigana was quite spare. But now that I read it, I think the furigana is quite a lot… Haha. And I do notice some JLPT 1 words that I studied specifically, here and there… And definitely learning Heisig helps to understand without being able to read. But of course, knowing the story beforehand does help a lot.

Should I continue to part 2 after this (with the sad sad part, maybe I should’ve gotten book 4 instead), or continue to other novel with higher level…?

It’s sad that the very clean second hand book that I got for 500yen is now dirty… =(

Hmm… People say the easiest is to study the grammar. But my grammar score isn’t good enough for a pass yet, maybe not enough study. But I still think it’s the easiest part to improve. And you must do the questions fast to have time for the readings.
Try the past test and see which part you’re good/weak at, and study accordingly.
